Welcome to Mad Hare Press! These Commission Policies & Legal Terms ("Policies & Terms") govern your inquiry of commission packages offered on our website [www.madharepress.com] (the "Site") and any services provided through the Site.

By submitting or commissioning artwork, including but not limited to sketches, digital designs, hand-printed artwork and block, you agree to be bound by these Policies & Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to commission a tattoo design. By submitting a request and/or making payment, you affirm that you meet this requirement and are legally eligible to receive a tattoo.

2. Age Requirements & Legal Responsibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to commission tattoo-related artwork from Mad Hare Press. By submitting a tattoo design request, you confirm that:

• You are 18+ and legally able to receive a tattoo, or you are commissioning for an adult with their full consent.

• You understand that Liz Ortiz / Mad Hare Press is not a tattoo artist and is not responsible for how, where, or by whom the tattoo is applied.

• It is your responsibility to ensure the tattoo is performed legally and safely by a licensed professional, and in compliance with all applicable laws in your area.

• We reserve the right to deny any commission request that appears to violate this policy.

3.Intellectual Property

• All content on this website, including but not limited to original artwork, images, text, logos, graphics, and designs, is the exclusive property of Mad Hare Press LLC and is protected under United States copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

• You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works based on any content found on this site without express written permission from Mad Hare Press LLC.

• Unauthorized use of our intellectual property is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

4. Use Rights & Production

Commissioned artwork is licensed for one-time personal tattoo use only. The design may not be:

• Used more than once

• Shared with other artists

• Reproduced, resold, or altered without express permission

Any reproduction (merchandise, apparel, digital, print, or resale) is prohibited without prior written permission and a commercial licensing agreement.

• Client may share the design with their tattoo artist, but not with other artists or for multiple tattoos unless otherwise agreed.

5. Artist Usage Restriction

Tattoo artists are prohibited from using this design for any client other than the individual named on the original request. A usage agreement letter is included with each design to clarify this.

6. Copyright & Ownership

• All artwork remains the intellectual property of Liz Ortiz / Mad Hare Press.

• The client receives limited usage rights for personal tattooing purposes only.

• Additional licensing for commercial work is limited to the terms agreed upon. All artwork remains the intellectual property of Liz Ortiz / Mad Hare Press.

• You may not resell, alter, or claim the artwork as your own.

7. Deposit, Refunds & Rush Fees

• A 50% deposit is required to begin.

• Full payment is due prior to delivery of the final file or shipping of the carved block.

• Refunds are available within 48 hours of deposit payment, or 24 hours for rush orders, provided no work has begun.

• After the refund window closes, deposits are non-refundable due to the nature of custom work.

8. Revisions & Timeline

• Packages include 1 revision round. Additional changes may incur a $25 per revision fee.

• Standard turnaround is 2–3 weeks from deposit/payment unless otherwise stated.

• Rush fee: +$50 for 7-day turnaround.

9. Payment & Cancellation 

• A non-refundable 50% deposit or full payment is required to begin the commission.

• If the client cancels after the initial sketch is delivered, a partial refund may be available minus the design time already completed.

• The remaining payment owed will be due upon approval of digital design prior to the final digital delivery.

• Once carving has begun before the final file is delivered, no refunds will be issued.

10. Shipping (for Package C)

• Shipping is not included. Priority Flat Rate shipping will be used with insurance and tracking. Shipping will be $15-25 depending on size, weight and distance.

• Mad Hare Press is not liable for delays or damage caused by postal carriers but will work with you to resolve any issues if possible. Insurance will cover the total cost of purchase including add-on fees, shipping and applicable sales tax.

11. Responsibility & Legal Use

Clients are responsible for ensuring the final tattoo is applied legally by a licensed professional. Liz Ortiz / Mad Hare Press is not liable for misuse or misapplication of the artwork.

• The nature of block printing relies on the application of ink consistency and prints can vary from each other. Therefore, if a block is purchased and used as a tattoo stencil it is the responsibility of the tattoo artist and client to ensure the design is properly applied and includes all present line work. 

12. Changes to These Policies & Terms

We may update these Policies & Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Policies & Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
