About the event
Join us for an evening of art, performance, and community.
Betty La Poderosa is a reader’s theatre presentation directed by Jesús Castro González of Teatro Latino, with original music by Isabella Knott.
This dramatic reading honors the life and legacy of community leader Betty Aragón, a woman of resilience, power, and voice. Through the performance, we uplift her story and ongoing impact.
The program is presented in conjunction with We Were Never Meant to Disappear, the solo exhibition by artist Liz Ortiz. Liz will lead a guided gallery walkthrough, sharing her journey as an artist and the stories behind selected pieces across printmaking, drawing, painting, and analog photography. Themes include cultural invisibility, memory, and Indigenous Latina identity.
All are welcome. Interpretation available in English and Spanish.
