Whisper Sister | Album Cover Linocut Commission

In early 2023, Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press was commissioned to create the cover artwork for the band Whisper Sister’s album release. The design features a hand-carved, black-and-white linocut print of a nun in a hush gesture, smoking, with striking linework and a moody, symbolic tone. Carved from battleship grey linoleum and printed with black oil-based ink on cotton paper, the imagery captured the band’s bold and mysterious aesthetic. This one-of-a-kind piece merges iconography, rebellion, and reverence in a single impression.
